On February 13 McCormick Place opened its doors again to host the 101th edition of the Chicago Auto Show. As usual an event this size is always lots of fun and as organizers and auto makers try to create a unique experience every time this year they made no exception. Even though the auto industry today is facing great challenges we cannot say the public noticed a huge difference compared to the previous years as there were lots af great models on display, with a fair deal of debuts.
The star of the show as most of the visitors would agree was the Chevrolet Stingray placed closely to its fellow autobots namely Jolt, Skids, Sideswipe and Bumblebee, as together they will star in the upcoming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
A nice surprise from Hyundai this year as the Korean automaker brought the Genesis trio in the form of Genesis Coupe and its R-Spec version witch both have very competitive pricing, plus the Red Bull Sponsored drift car.
The Ford stand presented the new Ecoboost-ed 2010 Ford Taurus SHO as well as the Harley Davidson edition of their F150.
Kia came along with Soul a cute boxy competitor for the Honda Element and Scion Xb that has a low price and long warranty and also the Kia Forte that is meant to replace the Spectra sedan.
Other headlines at the show that caught our attention were the Volkswagen CC Gold Coast, the newly debuted Acura TSX with a 280-hp V6, the Nissan Cube and the 20th anniversary of the Mazda Miata.
