The 2010 Bmw 7-Series High Security, a new generation of high-security sedans based on the latest BMW 7-Series, is here now. There are two models available: 760Li High Security and 750Li High Security,
Just as the name suggests, the new High Security sedans feature highly effective protective technique. Both of them are the first models in the world to be certified to BRV 2009 as well as meeting the requirements of the new ballistic protection level VR7 and VR9 standards.
The High Security models are fitted with a range of specific components, such as chassis reinforcements that are adapted to the increase in weight due to their armor plating, reinforced suspension, dampers, and an advanced "safety glazing" that offers added protection against certain kinds of attacks. Other changes include an armoured undercarriage, gap sealing (to prevent bullets/shrapnel from entering the cabin), and multi-layer laminated glass windows.
The passenger compartment is protected by armor plating of the doors, the roof, the pillars, the front footwell and the separation wall between passenger and luggage compartments.
Other special options include an intercom system with concealed microphones and speakers that allows communication with people outside of the vehicle without the need to open doors or windows, an assault alarm, a fire extinguishing system with temperature sensor for extinguishing fires in the engine compartment, and an internal air supply system that automatically activates if a gas attack is detected. Furthermore, the High Security models can also be outfitted with a center console-mounted machine gun case, integrated LED flashing lights, an acoustic signaling system, and security radios.
Under the hood, the 760Li High Security gets a 400 kW (544 hp) 6.0-liter V12 engine, while the 750Li High Security with a 300 kW (407 hp) 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. Both models have an electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h. The 750Li High Security accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, while the 760Li High Security does the same task in 6.2 seconds.
The BMW High Security models are designed for authorities and special need people. Each units will be built completely in-house at BMW and are available directly through the automaker’s dealerships.Source URL: https://carrevieeeew.blogspot.com/2009/08/2010-bmw-7-series-high-security-sedans.html
